Children's Day Celebration for School Children

Children's day marks a celebration of children, raising awareness for issues that affect children and helping us appreciate that they are the future of our societies. We can play an important part in making the day relevant for our societies/ communities. Children's day offers us an inspirational entry point to advocate, promote and celebrate children's rights translating into dialogues and actions that will build a better world for the children. Positive pathways Initiative which is particularly known for its interest in positive living and good mental health decided to encourage/motivate children to develop a positive mindset. Helping the children build their self esteem will make them feel confident, happier, and hold a more positive attitude.

Seminar: Emotional and Psychological Wellbeing of Children and Adolescents

On Saturday, March 5th, 2022, Positive Pathways Initiative, an NGO, organized a seminar on the emotional and psychological wellbeing of children and adolescents. The event took place at Ruqayya House (No. 1 Maiduguri road) in Kano and was attended by primary and secondary school heads and teachers (School Counsellors), as well as members of civil society groups. The seminar aimed to address the mental health challenges faced by children and adolescents and how educators and community leaders could play a role in promoting their emotional and psychological wellbeing. Participants discussed the impact of stress, anxiety, and depression on young people and the importance of creating safe and supportive environments for them to thrive. Speakers at the seminar emphasized the need for increased awareness and resources to address mental health issues in schools and communities.
